Business Development & Lead Generation Specialist

Hybrid, Work From Home

About Our Client:

Our client is an Australian advisory that focuses on helping businesses grow and scale along with recruitment business with two complementary service lines. The first is local permanent recruitment, placing professional candidates with Australian employers at a competitive flat fee. The second is offshore staffing: helping Australian businesses build high-performing remote teams in the Philippines through a fully managed, compliant employment solution with transparent flat-fee pricing.

Our client is in an exciting growth phase. Delivery capability is established; the next stage of growth is driven by business development – opening conversations with the right Australian employers and converting them into clients. That is where this role comes in.

Job Overview:

The Business Development & Lead Generation Specialist owns the top of our client’s sales funnel. Your job is to identify Australian companies that are hiring, reach the right decision-makers, position our client as local and offshore solutions, and book qualified meetings for the Director to close. You will run structured outbound campaigns across LinkedIn, email, and phone, and maintain a clean, well-qualified pipeline.

Success in this role is measured by one thing above all else: qualified meetings booked with decision-makers who have a genuine hiring need.

Key Responsibilities:

Prospecting & list building

  • Monitor Seek and other Australian job boards daily to identify companies actively hiring in our client’s target segments
  • Build and maintain accurate target lists of companies and decision-makers (owners, MDs, GMs, operations and HR leaders), enriched with contact details and hiring context
  • Research each prospect enough to personalise outreach – what they are hiring for, likely pain points, and which the client service line fits

Outbound campaigns

  • Execute multi-touch outreach sequences via LinkedIn (operating the Director’s profile under agreed guidelines), email, and follow-up calls
  • Work from approved messaging templates and playbooks, personalising each touch; all new messaging is approved by the Director before use
  • Nurture the Director’s existing network with relevant, well-timed touchpoints – warm relationships are handled with particular care

Qualification & meeting booking

  • Qualify interest against agreed criteria (hiring need, timing, authority, fit for local perm or offshore solution)
  • Book meetings directly into the Director’s calendar with a clear briefing note on each prospect
  • Confirm and follow up meetings to minimise no-shows

Pipeline & reporting

  • Keep the CRM (or pipeline tracker) accurate and current at all times – every contact, touch, and outcome logged
  • Report weekly on activity, conversion rates, and pipeline movement, and flag what is and is not working
  • Continuously test and refine messaging, targeting, and channels in collaboration with the Director
  • Ad hoc support
  • Provide personal assistance and administration support to the Director as required – this is a secondary part of the role, called on periodically rather than daily, and should not come at the expense of core BD activity and targets

Skills and Qualifications:

Essential

  • 2+ years in B2B lead generation, appointment setting, or sales development for Australian, US, or UK clients
  • Proven track record of booking qualified meetings with senior decision-makers (be ready to share numbers)
  • Excellent written English – able to write natural, professional, personalised outreach that does not read as templated
  • Confident, clear spoken English for follow-up and confirmation calls
  • Strong research skills using LinkedIn, Sales Navigator, job boards, and enrichment tools
  • Strong organisation: can manage sequences, follow-ups, and pipeline without being chased
  • Disciplined with CRM hygiene, sequences, and structured daily activity
  • High level of professionalism and integrity.
  • Reliable home office set-up: fast stable internet, quality headset, quiet workspace, and back-up power/connectivity

Highly regarded

  • Experience selling recruitment, offshoring/BPO, or other professional services into the Australian market
  • Familiarity with Seek and the Australian hiring landscape
  • Experience operating a principal’s LinkedIn profile with sound judgement and discretion
  • Experience with outreach and automation tools (e.g. LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Apollo, Instantly, HubSpot or similar)

Minimum Requirements:

  • i5 10th Gen or equivalent, 8GB RAM, 2GB Video Card or Integrated Graphics Card, Windows 10 or macOS (no Netbooks or Chromebooks), Headset with noise cancellation feature
  • Main Internet should be minimum of 20MBPs, wired only
  • An Antivirus Software should be installed, activated and updated
  • Backup Internet
  • Quiet Workplace
